Barbara R. Brown
8” x 6” “Javelina Joey” Fine Art in Concrete.
Barbara R. Brown has been creating limited edition bronze sculptures since 1996.   Her newest venture is working with concrete which she calls “Fine Art In Concrete.”  The creation process is similar to sculpting in bronze.   Once finished, the molds are then cast in concrete making them perfectly suitable to enjoy outdoors or in.  Barbara created the original life size adult female and baby javelina for Sedona’s “Javelinas on Parade” which was designated an Arizona Treasure by Gov. Napolitano.

CCSEURO2 Jacket

by jody on Feb.26, 2009, under Clothing

CCSEURO2 Jacket

Candiss Cole-Sedona,  AZ Hand woven and dyed raw silk  One size

Fiber content: Hand crafted original silk.
This is one of many designs inspired by trips in Europe. The short bell sleeves and asymmetrical shape with pockets. This jacket is available in several other colors. Contact the gallery about more pieces by this artist. A fifth Generation weaver, Candiss Cole’s Dutch ancestors worked in the felt mills of New England. She began knitting at an early age and looms were an integral part of the family environment. Candiss hand-dyes all of her warp yarns, one skein at a time, in a single spaghetti pot that she has been using for seventeen years.” There is no other way to do this. I can not get the color variation in large vats.” The dye sequence, dipping the skeins into the pot, rinsing and dying, is repeated with each color. After rinsing the silk in hot water, she wrings it through her prized Twentieth Century Maytag- one of her grandmother’s wedding gifts. Candiss now lives in Sedona and is inspired by the majesty of the red rock formations and the lush vegetation surrounding her home and studio, her designs display robust colors. Contact the gallery about more pieces by this artist.

Before the Wheel

by jody on Feb.23, 2009, under Fine Art, Wall Art

Before the Wheel

Sedona Artist Erin Lofton

Collaged texture mediums with inks, pencil & powders on stretched cotton canvas. This is a painting about our ancestors and their dreams. Erin feels the ancient ones had abstract visions of the future and recorded their dreamtime on the walls of sacred caves. These visions coupled with celestial visitations brought about the quantum leaps for civilization, like the wheel.

Aspen Burl Hollow Form

Aspen Burl Hollow Form

Jerry Wedekind
16”x 12” Aspen burl hollow form.

Jerry Wedekind is an artist from Colorado.   Jerry is unique in the turning world because he hikes or bikes out into the woods to find most of his pieces.  This giant is no exception.  He located it on a Mountain bike ride, but had no way to haul it back to his studio.  Later he improvised a narrow wheeled cart, hiked back in and retrieved this amazing  Aspen Burl.  This piece is unusually large and a treasure to all those that behold its beauty.

Arizona Dreams

Arizona DreamsMary Darwall-Utah
Bead weaving 18” plus 2” extender

Turquoise and Amber beads hand woven

My inspiration comes from nature, the desert’s dry’ ocean’ plants such as sage. Mary creates unique organic bead jewelry by intertwining color, movement, and texture. She starts by stringing beads, stones, pearls on a 49- strand fabric, each piece evolves and grows from instinctual choice, thus each piece is a spontaneous creation. In this necklace I have used turquoise and amber. Mary Darwall.
