Tom Philabaum has been working with glass since the early 1970’s. He created his Reptilian series around 1983, and shortly thereafter opened his own studio in Tucson. Each perfume bottle is hand-blown with the interior bubble appearing as if it is suspended within the piece. Philabaum’s pieces are a great addition to a perfume bottle collection.

He hand shapes the piece and prepares it with a fluid mixture of clay, water and color oxides before firing it in a low firing wood burning oven. Then each piece is hand painted with natural pigments.
