Lucy Paradise Glass Coasters
A great holiday gift idea from Kuivato Glass Gallery. Each set of fused glass coasters is designed and created by a local Sedona artist, Lucy Paradise. Fused glass was first mastered by Egyptian chemists in 2000 B.C. It is created by slowly heating compatible glass to approximately 1500 degrees where it liquefies and fuses together. Not only are the coasters an original piece of artwork, but they are functional as well. Lucy’s coasters are the ideal gift for anyone with an appreciation for art, even those who seem to have everything.

Mary Dewey A great holiday gift idea from Inner Eye Gallery. Mary Dewey, a nationally recognized ceramic artist, was raised in southern Florida and studied art at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She opened a studio in Ohio in the early 70’s and taught ceramics and sculpture at Muskingum College. She eventually moved to the foothills of the Appalachians and built her house and studio in the woods, a mile from the nearest road, with no utilites or running water, where she began to work in simplicity and earnest. One day she was adopted by a special cat who came marching through the woods on the day of the first firing of her new kiln. It is tradition among potters that a new kiln have a kiln god and so the cat was named “Kaygee”, which is short for “kiln god”, and from thereafter she was inspired to to make cat designs. Although Mary’s house and studio have moved and now have become civilized, complete with utilities and even a flush toilet, she still finds peace and inspiration in the woods and hills of southeastern Ohio. This cat was named by our Gallery.

34”x9.5” Fabric, cloth fragments
Hand-sewn three dimensional fabric collage depicting a harvest.
A great holiday gift idea from El Picaflor. The term “arpillera” means a rough, course fabric. It derives from an old Chilean tradition of using old remnants of fabric to make hand-sewn appliqués. These patchwork tapestries are made by a co-op of women in Peru and they tell stories of life. This one shows the typical Andean harvest. Variations in color and textures are natural to this item and make it unique. Hanger not included.
