Morenci Turquoise 14k Ring

Ken and Barbara Newman
3/4″ x 1/2″ size 7

A great holiday gift idea from Environmental Realists

Arizona artists Barbara and Ken Newman design each piece individually to suit the stone they are working with.  Using a variety of techniques (including construction, lost wax casting, and forging) to craft one-of-a-kind pieces, they create incredibly unique jewelry.  This Morenci mined turquoise ring is a fine example of their craftsmanship at work—note how the gold echoes the matrix in the stone itself, wrapping it’s tendrils around it and embracing it.  A true delight!  This ring can be sized.

Keishi pearl necklace, pearl earrings

Keishi pearl necklace, pearl earrings

Kara Raymond
Necklace and earrings – 17”overall length 1.25”x .75”, earrings 1.5”x .75” Hand-forged fused, carved and rolled multi-metal Mokume Gane with pearls.
17” Keishi pearl necklace with Mokume Gane pendant.
Mokume Gane earrings with freshwater pearl accents.
Mokume Gane means wood grain in Japanese.  Artist Kara Raymond begins her process by layering 16-22 sheets of metal, creating a stack approximately 2” thick.  Layers are clamped together and placed in a furnace, causing them to fuse together.  She then hot forges this sheet on an anvil.  The unique patterns are developed by carving down through the layers, rolling them thinner to reveal the designs.  This process is repeated many times to create the final patterns.  The lovely soft brown Keishi pearl strand is accented by one of Kara’s many layered Mokume Gane pendants, the swirls and whorls of the different metals are mesmerizing.  Coordinated earrings display a larger, more open pattern, a freshwater pearl topping off the design

RB Painted Gourds

RB Painted Gourds

Robert Brunner
Varied sizes One of a kind, hand painted gourds.

Inspired by a deep interest in sacred geometry, Robert’s designs transcend ethnicity.  Each vessel is a synchronicity of color and design that speak of the innate rhythm’s of nature.  Each gourd is chosen with attention to shape and design.  The initial design is burned into the gourd freehand.  It is then hand colored. A sealer is then applied to preserve the color.  By growing the gourds he uses, Robert enjoys gardening and combines his two enduring interests in his gourd art.  Robert maintains a studio in Sedona and enjoys cooking and playing with his two dogs. Robert Graduated Fordham with a Fine Arts Degree.
